Plot

In the heart of Tokyo, dynamic yoga instructor Kyoka Sawada finds herself entwined in an intricate dance of love, loss, and familial ties. Following the tragic death of her mother to cancer, Kyoka moves in with her father, Rintaro Sawada, a solitary scholar engrossed in the study of the Japanese language. Their coexistence is a tumultuous symphony of constant disagreements, with Kyoka bearing the added weight of her father's care. With her life consumed by familial obligations, the fiery-spirited Kyoka loses sight of her personal desires, marriage falling to the wayside in her list of priorities. Rintaro, once vibrant, now navigates life like a dull echo, the spark of his existence extinguished with his wife's passing. His mundane world takes an unexpected turn when he stumbles upon a divorce document hidden amongst his late wife's possessions. This discovery becomes a catalyst, igniting a desire for a fresh start and a new life partner. Driven by his need for companionship, Rintaro embarks on a quest for love, inadvertently pulling his reluctant daughter into the whirlpool of matrimony. The father-daughter duo sets off on parallel paths in search of a significant other. It's during this tumultuous journey that Kyoka crosses paths with Seita Higashimura, a single father to a charming 7-year-old boy. "Is Love Sustainable?" weaves a poignant tale of familial bonds and personal growth, exploring the complexities of love and relationships in the modern world. As Kyoka and Rintaro grapple with their individual struggles, they also begin to decipher the intricate puzzle of their own relationship, illuminating the intricacies of a double marriage life.
