Drug Squad: Costa del Sol (2019)

In the heart of 1977 Torremolinos, Málaga - a vibrant jewel of Andalusia in southern Spain - the nation spreads its wings to embrace a new era, post General Franco's death, known as The Spanish Transition. As the country grapples with change, four uniquely diverse police detectives converge on the sun-drenched Costa del Sol, armed with a shared mission: to dismantle the burgeoning drug trade that threatens their paradisiacal turf. Bruno, a seasoned cop and recent father, grapples with a family that teeters on the brink of rupture. His younger sister despises him, and his once-heroic image is tarnished by unconventional methods and a bitter fallout with his former chief, Inspector Cifuentes. Leo, the polished son of a retired dictatorship-era general, strives to step out of his father's shadow and carve a path of his own. Terrón, a street-smart agent hailing from humble origins, is driven by the desire to scrub clean the streets that raised him. Lastly, there's Martín, the thoughtful strategist, whose focus lies not on petty street peddlers, but on the puppet masters pulling the strings of the narcotics trade. On the other side of the law is the ambitious Reyes, owner of the pulsating disco, Camelot. Together with his wife Marielena, he succumbs to the allure of easy money, aligning himself with wealthy Moroccan drug lord, Alsi. In the swirling vortex of crime and ambition, there's Yolanda, affectionately known as "Buhíta", a Camelot waitress seeking vengeance for her father's murder, ensnared in a dangerous web spun by the criminal brothers, Cristóbal and Atilano Peña. With limited resources but abundant courage and wit, the quartet of Bruno, Leo, Terrón, and Martín wage war on the drug empire, risking their lives in the face of extreme danger. The game turns more volatile when Cifuentes returns as the squad's boss, and Bruno and Leo both fall for the enigmatic Buhíta. Amidst the sunlit beaches and shadowy underbelly of Costa del Sol, the stakes couldn't be higher.
