Plot

The dawn of a pivotal era in the annals of Korean history, one that continues to resonate a century later, is intricately woven into the fabric of this gripping historical drama. Set against the backdrop of the Japanese colonial rule in 1919, the narrative commemorates two monumental events that lit the torch of Korea's struggle for freedom - the March 1st Movement, and the birth of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea. In the heart of this struggle, an underground legion of patriots, known as the Heroic Corps, takes form. At the vanguard of this clandestine brigade is a man known to most as Kim Won Bong, a name that conceals his true identity. A fleeting phantom, Won Bong seldom lingers in one place for over two hours and sleeps only in fleeting intervals. However, his fervent desire for his nation's liberation never wavers. Meanwhile, Lee Young Jin, an enigmatic Korean woman nurtured by a Japanese military physician, finds her destiny intertwined with Won Bong's. Adopting her foster father's profession, she studies at an elite medical university in Shanghai and returns to Joseon to make history as the first female surgeon. Their paths intertwine, their ideologies clash, but Won Bong soon perceives her invaluable worth and questions his decision to thrust her into the heart of danger. Their journey is a testament to resilience and pursuit of dreams, a dance of sometimes falling, sometimes running, but perpetually rising to continue the chase. Carrying the heavy burden of their nation's historical struggles, they strive to ensure that the sacrifices made for Korea's freedom echo eternally. Their story is a stirring tribute to a past that must never be forgotten.
