Plot
In 2016, the arrival of a number of different alien races to Earth fundamentally changed humanity's relationship with the universe and utterly uprooted a number of our societal conventions. It's now 30 years later, and the Earth has been entirely terraformed by alien technology after a succession of brutal wars. The small town of Defiance is the few remaining bastions of civilization, and Jeb Nolan works hard to keep things that way. He's still grieving his family and traumatized from his part as a soldier in the war, but this community could offer him a chance to build a new future.
