Copper (2012)

The Five Points neighborhood of New York City in the 1860s was a largely lawless place where immigrants were conveniently banished and generations of the desperately working poor huddled together in lean-tos and shacks. The cops rarely come here except for a shakedown, but Kevin Corcoran is a unique presence on the force — an Irish immigrant now working as a detective. He lives and works in Five Points, and he's interested in making sure that justice is actually kept in these streets at the same time he's searching down the killer of his wife. But he finds himself getting caught up in the plans of interests throughout the city.
