Black Sails (2014)

This prequel to the novel Treasure Island introduces us to some of literary fiction's most popular characters 20 years before readers met them. Captain Flint and his crew operate out of the island of New Providence — and while it's an idyllic alternative to the straight life for these outlaws, it isn't without danger. The other pirates who call the island home aren't afraid to betray one another to get what they want, and that's not even taking into consideration the threats out on the open waters. But as their legend starts to grow, so do their ambitions to create something greater.
