In the shadow of the Villarrica siege, fifteen tumultuous years later, Diego, the unsung progeny of King Philip III and Isabel de Bastidas, seeks refuge in the vibrant city of Cartagena. Fleeing those who consider his bloodline a threat to the Spanish throne, he is accompanied by his steadfast stepfather, Agustín. However, Cartagena is far from the sanctuary they envisaged; the city, ensnared by the relentless grip of Caribbean pirates, offers no safe haven. As Diego and Agustín are forced to once again battle for survival, their story intertwines with a tale of remarkable endurance and courage.
