Plot

At the pinnacle of his boxing career, Yoo Ji-cheol was an undefeated champion. A titan in the ring, he was revered for his unstoppable prowess that had him conquering all formidable contenders in his prime years. His love life mirrored his success story, with a whirlwind romance leading to a swift proposal to Sun-joo, a woman he fell for at first sight. From their love blossomed a radiant daughter, Young-son, completing the picture of a national hero, a cherished husband, and an admired father. However, a shocking defeat during his 19th defense match against Min-woo sets in motion a swift fall from grace. Accusations of match-fixing swirled around him, transforming public admiration into widespread scorn. His boxing career was abruptly extinguished, and he found himself stripped of his wealth, honor, and family in one cruel swoop. In the aftermath, Ji-cheol finds himself donning the badge of a detective in the serious crime squad, though his passion for life seems to have been knocked out along with his boxing career. His once fervent drive replaced with an apathy that sees him continually seeking ways to shirk his responsibilities. His lackluster attitude finds a temporary reprieve during an illegal gambling crackdown, only to stumble further down the rabbit hole when he inadvertently assaults a civilian and is caught with unwanted gambling money, landing him a six-month suspension. With no means to support his family or pay his rent, Ji-cheol is cornered into making a risky decision: to step back into the ring he once ruled, but this time in the shady world of illegal boxing. The allure of the prize money is too significant to ignore, but the decision carries with it a dangerous promise. Will he regain his honor in this dangerous gamble or lose everything once again?
