Plot

In the heart of suburbia, nestled within the ordinary strip mall, the vibrant world of a comic book store opens the scene for 'Almost Heroes,' a comedy that captures the essence of homecoming. Brothers Terry and Peter find themselves thrust into the quirky universe of their late father's faltering comic book store, a legacy they are compelled to uphold in the wake of his sudden death. Peter, a homebody, has spent his life immersed in the colorful pages of comic books, mirroring his father's charming nerdiness. In contrast, Terry, once the unfortunate target of high school tormentors, fled to the ivy-clad walls of Harvard Business School, leaving his past and his geek culture behind. Now, Terry must face the remnants of his past, the family he left behind, and the geekdom he had disowned. As they navigate their way through the dynamic world of comic enthusiasts and their father's dream, the brothers strive to bury their past differences. They embark on a journey of acceptance and survival, attempting to keep their father's dream afloat without letting their sibling rivalry bring it all crashing down. In 'Almost Heroes,' it's not just about selling comics—it's about rediscovering family, facing the past, and surviving each other.
