This clandestine syndicate, spanning from the underworlds of South America, Italy, and Europe, hatches a nefarious plan against Hong Kong’s WELFARE FUND, a reservoir of the city's hard-earned tax money amounting to an estimated 150 million dollars. The catalyst to uncover this intricate web of corruption, greed, lust, and power, comes unexpectedly in the form of a disgruntled police superintendent's wife. Enter ICAC agent LOK, an indefatigable crusader for justice. Driven by his passion to combat corruption, he sees beyond the simple complaint, even as he grapples with the loss of his beloved wife. His relentless pursuit of truth unveils a string of suspicious events and loose ends - the mysterious death of a former godfather-like accountant, threats to innocent witnesses, and the emergence of a seemingly ordinary, terminally ill woman entwined in the very heart of the conspiracy.
