Plot

In the tempestuous landscape of mid-nineties Indian politics, Sidhardha (Suresh Gopi), a fervent youth leader from Delhi, finds himself wrongfully sentenced for the murder of Ambikaratnam (Geetha), a fellow party member and his beloved. This explosive saga, "Yuvathurki" (1996), pulls back the veil on the sinister machinations and conspiracies that thrum beneath the surface of Indian politics, where religion, caste, and the underworld cast long, treacherous shadows. The narrative plunges into the heart of Tihar jail, where Sidhardha endures brutal torture, his defiant spirit challenging the rampant injustice within the prison walls. The jail, under the ruthless control of Kalimulla (Mohanraj) and his henchmen, is a breeding ground for corruption, where political connections afford privileges and the vulnerable endure horrific abuse. In the midst of this turmoil, a ray of hope emerges in the form of Akhila (Vijayashanti), a tenacious CBI officer assigned to re-investigate Sidhardha's case by the Supreme Court. Undeterred by Sidhardha's hostility and his profound mistrust in the corrupt system, she doggedly pursues the truth, uncovering layers of political deceit and Sidhardha's innocence. As this unfolds, Justice Varma (Thilakan), a retired Supreme Court judge, is penning 'The Bleeding Nation', an exposé on the murky realities of bureaucracy and politics. His narrative threatens to expose Jyothikrishna, also known as J.K. (Mani C. Kappan), an ambitious Prime Minister aspirant with a web of illegal underworld ties that could jeopardize the nation's security. Sidhardha, after a daring jailbreak, allies himself with Varma, revealing the atrocities of the central prison and vowing to exact revenge on those who framed him. The plot thickens as Swami Somendra (Rajan P.Dev), a seemingly spiritual leader with an ashram as his underworld base, orchestrates a plot to destabilize the government. Sidhardha, alongside a group of young revolutionaries, decides to fight fire with fire, taking matters into their own hands to save the nation before the looming elections. They create their own secret prison, ensnaring several corrupt political figures and criminals, their sudden disappearances sending shockwaves through the ruling class. In a thrilling denouement, Sidhardha confronts J.K. and Somendra, forcing them to confess their crimes before delivering his own brand of vigilante justice. "Yuvathurki" paints a vivid picture of a nation on the brink, where power, vengeance, and justice intertwine in a gripping dance, leaving audiences on the edge of their seats until the final act.
