In the heart of a bustling hospital, Katie McDermad, a dedicated surgical nurse hailing from a modest background, finds her world turned upside down. Despite her love for her profession, the low pay and high stress levels often spark a fiery temper within her. The hospital's star surgeon and dedicated researcher, Jeff Chadwick, lives a life shrouded in his work, causing the nursing staff to view him as an elusive catch. One fateful day, Katie's temper flares in the operation room, resulting in her dismissal. This outburst happens during an impromptu surgery for Tony Brown, a wealthy benefactor annually donating $100,000 to the hospital, who had suffered an unfortunate hunting accident.
