Plot

In the stark heat of a Los Angeles afternoon on July 1, 1981, a chilling distress call draws police to the enigmatic address of 8763 Wonderland Avenue in Laurel Canyon. Here, they uncover an unspeakable scene—a quadruple homicide that would send shockwaves through the city. The victims are a motley collection of society's shadowy underbelly: drug dealers Ron Launius and Billy Deverell, the free-spirited Barbara Richardson, and the unsuspecting homeowner, Joy Miller. Each has been savagely bludgeoned to death, with Susan Launius, Ron's wife, left teetering on the brink of life and death. As Detectives Sam Nico, Louis Cruz and Mike Peters delve into the dark undercurrents of the case, they unearth a web spun with drugs, violence, and desperation. Central to this macabre tale is John Holmes, a falling star of the porn industry. Once revered as a titan of adult cinema, Holmes now battles his own demons, a slave to addiction, clinging to a relationship with his teenage lover, Dawn Schiller, while estranged from his wife, Sharon. Also entangled in this sordid saga are the hardened ex-con David Lind and the enigmatic nightclub impresario Eddie Nash. As Holmes emerges as a key suspect, questions arise: How much did he contribute to the grisly events that unfolded on Wonderland Avenue? In the fading twilight of his success, did desperation drive him to the unthinkable? "Wonderland" transports you to the heart of 1981 Los Angeles, a world steeped in hedonism and danger, where dreams meet reality with fatal consequences. It's a tale as captivating as it is horrifying, a real-life mystery that offers a glimpse into the darkest corners of the human soul.
