Three decades prior, a ridiculed Prof. Manfeldt unveiled a theory to the scientific community, speaking of the moon's hidden wealth in gold. However, today, an ambitious visionary named Herr Helius holds grand designs to construct a spaceship, with his sights set on the lunar surface. Prof. Manfeldt, still clinging to his theories in his humble attic dwelling, is invited to join the daring journey, alongside Windegger, Helius's top engineer. However, their plans are riddled with complications as the financiers, with their hidden motives to monopolize the world's gold supply, insist on sending their man, Turner, on the lunar mission. Meanwhile, an unmanned spacecraft, Rocket H 32, returns from the moon's shadowy side, bringing crucial data. But earthbound dramas ensue as Helius grapples with the news of Windegger's engagement to the attractive Friede, whose name graces their soon-to-be launched spaceship. As the Spaceship "Friede" finally stands ready for takeoff, the team wrestles with fierce acceleration and mounting tensions. Amidst the chaos, they discover an unexpected passenger, a young stowaway boy named Gustav, as they edge closer to the moon.
