Plot

In this scathing critique of the high-fashion world, we're introduced to Polly Maggoo, a 20-year-old Brooklyn-born model, who has become a sensation on the Parisian catwalks. Amidst the glitz and glamour, the influential magazine editor Ms. Maxwell reigns supreme, blurring the line between the absurd and the exquisite. Polly finds herself in the spotlight of the vacuous TV news-documentary series "Qui êtes-vous?" Her life takes a surreal turn as she's pursued not just by the tenacious filmmaker but also by the prince of Borodine, a tiny nation nestled in the Soviet bloc. As we follow the making of the documentary, we eagerly anticipate Polly's arrival in the Borodine kingdom. We're privy to a suburban luncheon and unravel the threads of Polly's past. Yet, the question remains: is there more to Polly Maggoo than just a beautiful facade? Is there a depth beneath her surface allure? This film is a fascinating exploration of appearance versus reality in the superficial world of fashion, leaving us pondering the enigma that is Polly Maggoo.
