Plot

In the melancholic year of 1922, a promising young composer and pianist named Olwen Trevelyan, haunted by an unfinished composition and troubled by insomnia, tragically plummets to her death from the towering cliffs of Cornwall. Her death casts a long, dark shadow over the Trevelyan family, especially her sister Julia. Consumed by an obsessive devotion to her sister's memory, Julia transforms their family home into a shrine of remembrance, where Olwen's lingering spirit and her haunting, unfinished melody, "The Dream of Olwen," reverberate through its corridors. As years turn into decades, Olwen posthumously achieves fame due to her untimely, tragic demise and the captivating allure of her incomplete composition. On the 25th anniversary of her death, the family huddles around a radio, their hearts pulsating to the rhythm of the broadcasted "The Dream." Suddenly, their world is disrupted by an enigmatic young woman who intrudes the solemn gathering, takes a seat at the piano, and effortlessly plays along with the ethereal melody. With no recollection of her past, the amnesiac woman is taken under the wing of the fervently obsessed Julia, who is convinced that this stranger is the reincarnation of her beloved sister. "While I Live" is a mesmerizing tale that weaves together the themes of intense obsession, reincarnation, and the enduring power of music, all set against the backdrop of a family's struggle to cope with an irreplaceable loss.
