Plot

In the gritty landscape of the NYPD, two recently partnered Homicide detectives, Tom Chaney and Rod Lambeau, find themselves navigating a labyrinth of crime. Both considered outsiders, Tom due to his allegiance to his discredited ex-partner, and Rod as a result of his open homosexuality. Their first assignment throws them into a chilling investigation of two separate murders, each victim previously acquitted of violent sexual assault charges. The eerie similarities in the murders point towards a ritualistic act - both victims were poisoned then had their hair bizarrely shorn. At the heart of this intricate puzzle is D.A. Katy Wesson, a deaf yet accomplished prosecutor, with these two cases among her few courtroom defeats. She emerges as a prime suspect due to her intimate connection with the victims. Aided by her loyal friend and interpreter, Josh Kane, Katy navigates the treacherous waters of the investigation. As the plot thickens, Tom finds himself increasingly drawn to Katy, his suspect, and they embark on a tumultuous relationship. This unexpected romance ignites a powder keg of tension between Tom, Rod, and Josh. Rod grows more convinced of Katy's guilt as incriminating evidence piles up, while Josh is steadfast in defending her. Katy, caught in the crossfire, struggles with the knowledge of her ongoing investigation by the detectives. This compelling narrative explores the dichotomies of justice, passion, and loyalty, where every character is a suspect and the line between guilt and innocence is blurred.
