What Dreams May Come (1998)

Dr. Chris Nielsen marries his wife, Annie. They have two children, but both kids die in a car accident, emotionally breaking their parents. Four years later, Chris also dies in a car accident. After lingering on earth for a brief time - and being surprised by his inability to interact with anyone - Chris moves on to heaven. He is guided by Albert Lewis, who acts like an angelic mentor. Unable to continue without her family, Annie dies by suicide, forcing Chris to journey to hell to save her and reunite his family in the afterlife.
