Plot

In the sacred city of Hardwar, a mother and son, shrouded in grief, arrive to bid a final farewell to an elder son - a prodigal who had fled home and was presumed dead. Their sorrow, however, swiftly morphs into bewilderment when they spot him, alive and seemingly unscathed, on the serene banks of the River Ganga. This long lost son is none other than Bharath Pisharody, an esteemed Sanskrit scholar, cherished by all who know him, especially his cousin and confidante, Meera. On the day destined for their union, Pisharody mysteriously absconds, leaving Meera's heart shattered and her father baffled. When he finally returns to his family folds, he's a starkly different man, sparking rumors of illicit drug use. The truth, however, is far more complex. Plagued by a profound depression, Pisharody battles a tumultuous mental storm, a fact revealed only when his brother stumbles upon medical documents hidden in a locked suitcase. His revelation shatters the family's perception of Pisharody, casting a fresh, empathetic light on his actions. The plot thickens as the narrative spirals towards a compelling climax. At the heart of this gripping tale is Meera's unwavering dedication to help Pisharody navigate his way out of this emotional labyrinth. The movie, Vadakkumnadhan, is a poignant tale of love, loss, and the power of understanding in the face of adversity.
