In the bustling heart of Geneva, 2018, Isabelle's world comes to a halt when she recognizes a young woman shrouded in Islamic attire on a train - Anaïs, her estranged granddaughter. She immediately alerts Léa, Anaïs' mother, residing in far-off Montreal. Léa, desperate to unravel the enigma of her daughter's abrupt conversion to Islam, hastens to Switzerland, fuelled by a mix of anxiety and curiosity.
Isabelle, however, harbors a different theory. She is convinced that there's a hidden catalyst behind Anaïs' secretive transformation into a devout Muslim. Together, they embark on a quest to uncover this elusive reason, treading on a path that reveals the extent of Anaïs' fervor.
As they unravel Anaïs' mystery, another secret surfaces, one that links their past to their present. Léa stumbles upon the chilling revelation that Isabelle, her own mother, was implicated in a horrific Swissair flight attack in 1970 that claimed 47 lives, including that of Léa's father, on a journey from Zurich to Tel Aviv.
