Plot

In the heart of suburban tranquility, a bitter feud threatens to shatter the calm. Atli, expelled from his marital home by his wife Agnes, finds refuge with his parents, Baldwin and Inga. Agnes' ire isn't the only conflict he's drawn into; a long-standing quarrel over a majestic tree that adorns his parents' backyard and casts a long shadow over the neighbours' sun-drenched deck has reached boiling point. Atli's struggle to regain his right to see his daughter, Ása, intertwines with this verdant battleground. The dispute over the tree, once a mere suburban spat, spirals violently out of control. Mysterious disappearances of cherished pets, clandestine installation of security cameras, and property damage stoke the flames of this escalating feud. Whispers of the neighbour brandishing a chainsaw further fuel the tension. Under the Tree presents a tale of domestic disputes that defy the idyllic suburban facade, weaving together a father's fight for his child and a war over a shadow. As the seeds of discord grow into an all-consuming wildfire, viewers are left to question: how far will these once-peaceful residents go in their battles for sunlight and love?
