Plot

In the chilling tale of "Twilight Dinner" (1998), we follow the plight of Kazuhiko, a man with a hauntingly pallid countenance, who finds himself ensnared in the unnerving interrogation room of a police station. His interrogation centers around a grotesque murder of a young woman, a crime that is as bloody as it is mysterious. The narrative unravels as Kazuhiko begins to recount his story, tracing back to the day when two enigmatic sisters, Akiko and Mayuko, moved into the house opposite his. His otherwise mundane life shifts on its axis as he finds himself drawn into the magnetic pull of the sisters. An innocent act of helping them move in leads to a deep connection with the younger sister, Mayuko, a bond that soon morphs into an intimate relationship. Yet this seemingly ordinary romance takes a dark twist when the sisters abruptly vanish, leaving behind an echo of their presence in the form of a shared secret with Kazuhiko. This secret, far from mundane, evokes in Kazuhiko an insatiable hunger. Initially perceived as a carnal desire, it soon unveils itself as something far more sinister, something that could possibly push him over the edge into a realm of darkness and savagery. As the plot thickens, the burning question emerges: What could the secret be that could potentially lead Kazuhiko to commit such a gruesome act? Or is he even guilty? The movie "Twilight Dinner" masterfully entwines a tale of love, mystery, and horror, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats, eager to unravel the truth.
