Trumbo (2015)

The 1950s saw Americans turn on one another out of fear of Communist sympathizers, and Hollywood was as vulnerable as any other industry. Dalton Trumbo was once one of the top screenwriters in Hollywood, but supposed Communist sympathies led to him being placed on the Hollywood blacklist. Soon Dalton found himself unable to find work in the field, but he didn't consider that an opportunity to give up. As paranoia continues to wreck the lives of people around him, Dalton starts a scheme to sell his scripts on the black market, trading ownership of his art for the sake of staying out of the poor house. Through it all, he somehow manages to hold onto his convictions.
