Plot
This anthology series explores a new group of detectives in a new city with each season — and while the characters themselves come from entirely different parts of the world and different walks of life, their stories are each inspired by the hard-boiled detective fiction of the early 20th century. Regardless of the season, it's about functionally broken men and women doing the best they can but riddled with personal flaws and forced to square off against criminals willing to do unspeakable things for reasons that don't always make sense. They're grappling with themselves in a world with no sense of right or wrong.
