Tru Love (2013)

With a heart as elusive as the wind, Tru, a 37-year-old free-spirited lesbian, has developed a knack for dodging commitment, be it in love or livelihood. Her casual approach to life shifts, however, when she crosses paths with Alice, a radiant 60-year-old widow visiting town on an impromptu trip to see her daughter, Suzanne. Suzanne, a workaholic corporate lawyer and Tru's old acquaintance, is tangled in a strained relationship with her mother and a convoluted history with Tru. As Tru and Alice's friendship unexpectedly blossoms into something more, it sends ripples through Suzanne's world. The strengthening bond between her mother and Tru fuels Suzanne's unease. The tension reaches a boiling point when Suzanne stumbles upon a tender moment shared between the two, sparking her to sabotage their burgeoning romance. But love, especially one as true as Tru's, proves challenging to suppress. The aftermath of Suzanne's interference only serves to highlight the resilience of a love that refuses to be confined.
