Plot

Set against the backdrop of the fiercely competitive toothpaste industry, 'Traveling Saleslady' tells the tale of Angela Twitchell, the spirited daughter of a prominent toothpaste tycoon, Rufus K. Twitchell. Living in the shadow of her father's monopolistic empire, Angela yearns to stake her own claim in the business world, defying the traditional mindset that it's a man's world. When quirky inventor, Elmer Niles, presents an innovative line of cocktail-flavored toothpaste to the resistant Mr. Twitchell, Angela spots an irresistible business opportunity. Ingeniously, she retains ownership of the idea but licenses it to her father's competitors, setting herself the challenge to become a traveling saleslady for a year to prove its success. On the road, she not only manages to cleverly snatch her father's customers from under the nose of his top salesman, Pat O'Connor, but also embarks on a whirlwind romance with him. Their nights are filled with exhilaration and their days with ruthless business maneuvering, creating a dynamic rollercoaster of personal and professional entanglements. Adding to the mix is Claudette Ruggles, a determined drugstore owner with her own romantic designs on O'Connor. 'Traveling Saleslady' is a whirlwind adventure of commerce, cocktails, and love triangles, where the stakes are high and the sales are even higher.
