Plot

Meet Dave Bertman, a man bound by his traditional beliefs and the complexities of fatherhood. His life takes an unexpected turn when a group of unyielding medical marijuana advocates burst into his reunion barbecue, brandishing their "loaded" arguments. When his teenage daughter, Gina Marie, arrives with a joint hidden away, Bertman is forced to confront his worst fears. However, it is only through challenging his own prejudices that he can truly connect with his daughter, fostering an understanding that transcends their previous relationship. Parallelly, his college debate companions embark on their own introspective journeys, unshackling themselves from their inhibitions. Enter Dr. Willa Peterson, an unfaltering pro-marijuana activist. Tired of her efforts being thwarted by corporate greed, she decides to play them at their own game. By persuading the snack food giant, Fun-0nion, that their profits would soar if marijuana was legalized, she secures their allegiance to her cause. To revolutionize America's perspective on marijuana, a dynamic marketing campaign is set in motion by Arturo Goldman, a PR maestro from the renowned firm Goldman, Goldberg, Goldstein, and Goldman. His audacious strategy? Exploit the nation's fear of homosexuality as a tool to advocate for marijuana use. "Totally Baked" serves up a comedic feast, humorously debunking stereotypes and mythologies surrounding marijuana through a blend of candid street interviews, sharp stand-up comedy, and a series of satirical vignettes. The ensuing chaos leaves the conservative crowd scrambling, as they grapple with the notion of getting their kids high to inhibit supposed homosexual tendencies. This film takes a hilarious yet insightful look at the contentious debate surrounding marijuana legalization.
