Thomas & Friends: Misty Island Rescue (2010)

In this tale of camaraderie and adventure, Thomas the Tank Engine finds himself mocking Diesel for his distinctiveness from other locomotives, being a diesel engine rather than a steam engine. Intent on proving his worth, Diesel challenges Thomas to a thrilling race which ends in a disastrous bridge accident, causing Diesel to lose his precious cargo. Proving that friendship trumps rivalry, Thomas fearlessly rescues Diesel, earning himself a coveted trip to the mainland rescue center. Transported on a raft, tethered to a boat, Thomas embarks on what should have been a straightforward journey. However, fate had other plans. The chain securing the raft snaps, leaving Thomas adrift, and he eventually washes ashore on the enigmatic Misty Island. His only company? The notorious "Logging Locos," a trio of misbehaved engines exiled due to their unruly conduct. As Thomas ventures deeper into the island, he uncovers a secret tunnel linking Misty Island to his beloved Sodor. In an audacious attempt to return home, Thomas and the Logging Locos traverse the shadowy tunnel only to find themselves ensnared by a cave-in. Displaying quick thinking, Thomas uses his steam signals to call for help, successfully catching the attention of his friends Percy and Whiff back in Sodor. Upon his return, Thomas discovers that his absence had not gone unnoticed. Sir Topham Hatt, deeply worried, had organized a rescue party to search for the missing engine on Misty Island. Thomas then retraces his steps back to the island, leading the rescue party to the trapped Logging Locos. Following their dramatic rescue, the misfit engines are given a warm welcome in Sodor and gifted much-needed repairs. As the jubilant engines celebrate the creation of Sodor’s own "Search and Rescue Center,” an ominous figure lurks in the shadows. The nefarious Diesel 10 watches from afar, ominously murmuring threats. Will Thomas and his friends be ready for what's to come? Only time will tell in this thrilling saga of locomotive bravery and friendship.
