Plot

In the heart-wrenching drama, "Thirst for Life" (2017), we are introduced to Lisa, a devoted mother, besieged by the relentless grip of alcoholism. As her obsession with the bottle intensifies, it gradually consumes her, casting an ominous shadow over her two children - the 11-year-old Thomas and a newborn baby. Unbeknownst to Lisa, her cherished family is slowly unraveling at the seams; her husband Vincent, consumed by his career, naively underestimates the direness of her condition, choosing to navigate the periphery of the problem rather than confront it head-on. This leaves young Thomas caught in the crossfire of this domestic battlefield, burdened with the adult responsibility of caring for his baby sister as their mother spirals further into her addiction. In the midst of this turmoil, the narrative poses poignant questions: Will Thomas, who has known nothing but love and care thus far, acclimate to these harsh realities? Is there a glimmer of hope for Lisa to reassert control over her life and conquer her debilitating disease? "Thirst for Life" is a compelling exploration of a family's struggle against the taboo of addiction, and the resilience of the human spirit even in the darkest of times.
