Plot

Swept away in the bustling city of Alexandria, Egypt, seven-year-old Jesus Bar-Joseph leads a seemingly ordinary life with his family, far from the blood-thirsty clutches of King Herod of Israel. Yet, beneath this veil of normalcy, young Jesus senses the whispers of secrets swirling around him, hidden truths about his birth and mysterious attributes that set him apart from his peers. His parents, Joseph and Mary, harbor this reality, deeming him too tender to understand the divine circumstance of his birth and his destined purpose. But, as they learn about the demise of the murderous King Herod, a glimmer of hope sparks their decision to journey back to their homeland, Nazareth, in Israel. However, their voyage home is not as serene as they imagine. Unbeknownst to them, Herod's equally tyrannical son is hell-bent on continuing his father's dark legacy, with his sights set on the innocent, young Jesus. The Young Messiah weaves a poignant tale, recounted through the innocent eyes of the child Jesus. As he steps into the complex labyrinth of his religious identity, viewers are invited to journey with him, witnessing his transformation from a curious boy into the beacon of faith he is destined to become.
