The Wizard of Gore (1970)

Beneath the twinkling lights of the stage, a master illusionist conjures up a macabre spectacle that leaves the audience gasping. The magician's act, as hypnotic as it is gruesome, involves seemingly driving swords, drills, and other implements through the bodies of female volunteers. The women, unscathed, take their final bow to the thunderous applause of the crowd, only to be found later, dead from the very injuries they appeared to bear on stage. As the death toll rises, the police find themselves in a labyrinth of mysteries, unable to link the stage performer to the string of chilling murders. Meanwhile, a TV talk-show hostess, drawn into the enigmatic world of the illusionist through her boyfriend's morbid fascination, begins to suspect the unthinkable: Could the magician's powers extend beyond mere trickery? Could he be bending minds, controlling thoughts, and orchestrating these gruesome illusions not just on stage, but in reality? Together, the talk-show hostess and her boyfriend set a daring course to uncover the truth. As they embark on their investigation, the line between illusion and reality begins to blur, leading them deeper into the magician's world of shadows and secrets. In this deadly game of deception, they must unravel the enigma of the Wizard of Gore before they become his next act.
