Plot

In the thick of volatile political unrest in the heart of Africa, the shadowy London-based merchant banker, Sir Edward Matheson, engineers an audacious plan to liberate the ousted African President, Julius Limbani. Perceived as dead by his followers, Limbani languishes in captivity, his survival hinging on a daring rescue mission. A troop of hardened, middle-aged mercenaries, primarily from London, is assembled under the iron-willed leadership of Colonel Allen Faulkner. This band of grizzled warriors is tasked to infiltrate the ruthless regime and free the virtuous leader from his imprisonment. In an exhilarating plunge into the hostile landscape of Zembala, these seasoned paratroopers, handpicked for their grit and courage, descend upon the simmering cauldron of political upheaval. The mercenaries, however, remain oblivious to a treacherous turn of events that threatens to upend their mission and catch them in the crossfire of General Ndofa's ferocious Simbas. As these graying warriors face the harsh realities of the sun-seared wilderness and the relentless pursuit of their foes, the question remains: Can Faulkner's men outwit their adversaries, survive the unforgiving terrain, and carry out their daring escape? The Wild Geese is a tale of courage and resilience against the backdrop of a land ravaged by power struggles and treachery.
