Plot

In the chilling echoes of a city gripped by terror, a remorseless killer preys on unsuspecting elementary school students, leaving a trail of horror and despair. The investigation hits a wall when the prime suspect breathes his last, and the case, shrouded in a veil of mystery, appears to be at a standstill. In a desperate attempt to bring closure, the police hierarchy hatches a sinister plan to fabricate a killer, using anyone within their reach as a pawn in a dangerous game of deception. At the heart of this moral quagmire is Detective CHOI, a hard-nosed cop whose illustrious career is marred by a baffling lack of advancement. Sensing the urgency for professional redemption, he strikes a perilous bargain with JANG, a man he has been relentlessly pursuing. Together, they scheme to frame an existing suspect as the monstrous killer, hoping to deceive the public and the law. However, their path is obstructed by the tenacious public prosecutor JOO, who is assigned to the case. Unbeknownst to them, JOO harbors his secrets, having been entwined in a clandestine deal with KIM, a rival construction contractor. As these covert pacts and shady dealings gradually emerge from the shadows, they ensnare everyone involved in a spiraling descent into a realm of moral ambiguity and flagrant lawlessness. "The Unjust" is a dark, twisting tale that navigates the intricate labyrinth of corruption, deceit, and the desperate lengths to which people will go when cornered by circumstances. It's a gripping exploration of a world where justice is a mere pawn in the power plays of the mighty, and innocence is an expendable commodity.
