Plot

In 1977, the cobblestone streets of Montreal echo with the frantic footsteps of Wilbur Gray, a writer consumed by a chilling revelation. He rushes towards his publisher, Frank Richards, carrying a book that paints an ominous picture of our furry companions - cats. Wilbur unveils his spine-tingling theory; these cuddly creatures are nothing less than supernatural entities who watch our every move, control our lives, and may even be the devil in disguise. Wilbur substantiates his eerie hypothesis with three captivating chronicles. In the early 20th century London, an affluent lady, Miss Malkin, alters her will, bequeathing her fortune to her cats instead of her nephew Michael. This seemingly eccentric act sparks a sinister chain of events when Janet, Miss Malkin's maid and Michael's secret lover, attempts to steal the will. Her plan backfires disastrously, leading to a terrifying feline retaliation. In the frosty heart of Quebec, 1975, the narrative shifts to an orphaned girl, Lucy. After a tragic plane crash claims her parents, Lucy is sent to live with her Aunt Blake and mean-spirited cousin Angela. Lucy's only solace is her loyal cat, Wellington, who is cruelly taken away from her. Consumed by sorrow and anger, Lucy turns to her mother's old book of witchcraft, seeking an uncanny form of retribution. Finally, the glitz and glamour of 1936 Hollywood set the stage for the third tale. Valentine Death, a famous actor, plots a wicked scheme to murder his wife with a fake pendulum, thereby paving the way for his ambitious mistress. However, his wife's cat, a silent observer to this treachery, swears to exact a gruesome revenge. "The Uncanny" weaves together these disparate threads of malevolence, mystery, and cats, into a tapestry of terror. As Wilbur's tales unfold, the viewer is left to ponder over the unsettling question - are the cats mere pets or are they puppeteers in this dance of destiny?
