Plot

In the dawn of the 21st century, humanity finds itself on the brink of collapse, ravaged by a devastating bio-terror catastrophe. As the dust settles, two distinct breeds of humans emerge from the ruins. The Nokusu, survivors of the lethal virus, now bear a unique antibody. Despite their heightened intelligence and youthful vitality, they are cursed with a heightened sensitivity to sunlight, becoming nocturnal entities. The Kyurio, on the other hand, survived by evading the virus, living in the shadows of their Nokusu counterparts, facing unjust discrimination. Caught in this turbulent world is Tetsuhiko Okudera (Ryunosuke Kamiki), a Kyurio born in a destitute village. Torn between his identity and envy of the Nokusu's abilities, Tetsuhiko yearns for a life beyond his status as a Kyurio. As he navigates this harsh, divided world, his childhood friend Yui Ikuta (Mugi Kadowaki) strives tirelessly to breathe life back into their impoverished village. The Sun (2016) is a poignant tale of survival, identity, and the human spirit's indomitable will to thrive amidst adversity.
