Plot

In the depths of her profound turmoil, Anne, a young woman teetering on the edge of sanity, abandons the comforts of her marital home to return to the familiarity of her childhood countryside abode. Plagued by a desperate yearning to recapture her lost innocence, she is met with the stark realization that her parents still perceive her as their little girl, unaltered by the ravages of time and the burden of her struggles. Seizing an opportunity, Anne persuades her mother to accompany her pregnant sister, leaving her alone with her father. A disturbing secret unravels like a dark tapestry as Anne discovers her father's clandestine affair with a mistress. Driven by an unsettling jealousy, she orchestrates a meeting with the other woman, inviting her into their home, a decision that spirals into unforeseen consequences. As the echoes of her past life reach out to her, with her husband seeking to understand her sudden departure, Anne resolutely turns her back on him, further entrenching herself in her twisted fantasy. Her fascination with her father intensifies, spiraling into a dangerous obsession, as she manipulates the situation, ensnaring him in a web spun from her incestuous dream. With vibrant, yet haunting undertones, 'The Prodigal Daughter' is a disturbing exploration of a deeply troubled psyche, blurring the lines between love, obsession, and taboo in a chilling dance of desire and despair.
