Plot

In the hallowed halls of Oxford University, Martin, a bright-eyed mathematics PhD student portrayed by Elijah Wood, seeks the guidance of his revered mentor, Professor Arthur Seldom, played by Sir John Hurt. His journey leads him to the eerie residence of Mrs. Eagleton, an austere woman whose frosty demeanor casts a chilling air over the house, suffocating both her daughter Beth and the atmosphere. As a close acquaintance of Professor Seldom, Mrs. Eagleton's residence offers Martin a path to his mentor, albeit a daunting one. At the university, Martin's admiration for Seldom is met with a harsh reality check during a lecture, leaving him grappling with his aspirations. But amidst the academic turmoil, he finds solace in a blossoming romance with the enchanting Lorna, a woman he encounters during a squash game. However, tranquility is short-lived when one fateful night, Martin and Seldom stumble upon Mrs. Eagleton's lifeless body. Thrust into the center of a police investigation, they find themselves entangled in a web of mystery. As the plot thickens, they resolve to unravel the truth, embarking on a clandestine investigation of their own. The Oxford Murders is a tale of intellectual pursuit, unexpected romance, and a desperate quest for truth amidst a backdrop of intrigue and suspense.
