Plot

At the cusp of her thirties, Tom is an intrepid spirit, having spent her life adrift on the waves of adventure. Her existence has been punctuated by the thrill of new discoveries, the rustling pages of her passport, and the rich tapestry of tales she amassed for her future grandchildren. Yet, societal norms weigh heavy on her independent heart, stirring a turbulence that prompts her to revisit a once familiar haven in the south of France. A vineyard, steeped in tradition and the painstaking art of wine-making, is the home of David, a man whose love for Tom has remained undiluted since their first encounter by a Californian beach campfire. His life, a stark contrast to Tom's, is rooted in the earthy embrace of his vineyard, his heart still echoing with the remnants of a romance that slipped through his fingers six years ago. As Tom grapples with the idea of a settled life and the allure of her footloose existence, David discards his comfort zone, ready to chase an elusive love that has haunted his dreams. In this dance of decisions, amidst the vineyard's tranquil beauty, Tom must choose between the predictable rhythm of convention and the wild symphony of her wanderlust. Will she surrender to the pull of a committed relationship or continue to be a free bird, soaring in the limitless skies of adventure? The Only One (2021) is a poignant exploration of love, life, and the choices that shape us.
