Plot

Harold Hill isn’t your typical traveling salesman. He’s a traveling con man who convinces people to start a band together, while he provides the instruments and uniforms for a high price and then flees as soon as he receives the money. But when Harold develops feelings for a local librarian named Marian, will he be able to continue conning people without remorse? Marian suspects Harold of fraud, but he doesn’t know--which makes his decision about whether or not to leave town even more difficult.
