Plot

In the turbulent aftermath of the Battle of Worcester, marking the terminal point of the Civil War, Oliver Cromwell's Commonwealth is relentlessly hunting for Charles Stuart, the man destined to be king. His survival lies precariously in the hands of the audacious Earl of Dawlish, known infamously and enigmatically as the Moonraker. With an impressive track record of rescuing Royalists from Cromwell's clutches, the Moonraker embarks on his most perilous mission yet. Dawlish, driven by a steely resolve, journeys to the Windwhistle Inn nestled on the rugged south coast. Here, he meticulously plots the escape of the future king. His mission, however, takes an unexpected turn when he crosses paths with the captivating Anne Wyndham, betrothed to a high-ranking Roundhead colonel. "The Moonraker" (1958) is a thrilling blend of historical drama and romance, filled with daring exploits and unforeseen alliances. It's a vivid portrayal of a nation divided and a man's unwavering loyalty to his future king, all against a backdrop of political intrigue and personal attachments.
