Transplanted from the bustling avenues of New York City to the scenic streets of San Francisco, Chloe Davenport, an aspiring artistic photographer, is on a quest to make her mark. Her work, a collection of personal memories encapsulated in monochrome, reflects her clinical view of life and love, a perspective shaped by a lineage of failed romances. Her belief of inevitably doomed relationships is challenged when she stumbles upon a captivating scrapbook at a local swap meet. Termed a 'memory book', this worn-out relic tells the enchanting 1971 love story of Sarah and Jonathan, two young souls captured in time. Their tale, as seen through the lens of their intimate photographs, captivates Chloe. Compelled by the mystery that envelops their narrative, she sets out on a mission to uncover their complete story and, if possible, return the memory book to them. Joining her in this intriguing journey is Gabe, a charismatic ex-lawyer turned bartender, who is navigating his own path of self-discovery. Fascinated by Chloe but indifferent to her photography, Gabe nevertheless embraces the opportunity to accompany her in this endeavor. Their quest for clues becomes a roller-coaster adventure, pushing them towards a destination unknown. As their journey unfolds, Chloe finds herself increasingly drawn to Gabe. However, she staunchly refuses to let these burgeoning feelings distract her from her mission. The fate of Sarah and Jonathan, as revealed in the pages of the memory book, becomes a decisive factor in Chloe's willingness to surrender to love, despite her apprehensions.
