Plot

Situated in the heart of the Basque Country yet politically tethered to the Autonomous Community of Castilla-León, lies the peculiar town of Tellería, a town that has been yearning for a change of community for centuries. The town's mayor, Antolín, has tirelessly petitioned for this change, only to experience repeated rejections. On yet another discouraging day, the town is graced by the return of Antolín's son Gorka, accompanied by his partner and love interest, Yolanda. They come to unveil the veiled past of the town's church, under the watchful eye of the local priest, Don Anselmo. An unexpected turn of events unfolds when Yolanda stumbles upon a medieval sepulcher while exploring the church's underground, revealing it as the resting place of Walter Tell, the progeny of the legendary Swiss figure, William Tell. Ancient documents unearthed along with the tomb hint at the town's inception as a gift to Walter Tell from Alfonso XI, the King of Castile. This revelation provides a tantalising opportunity: could Tellería become the 27th canton of Switzerland? As Gorka grapples with this monumental discovery, he must also navigate the complexities of love as he encounters Nathalie, his former flame and his father's loyal aide. The town, fueled by the prospect of the financial benefits of becoming a Swiss canton, buzzes with anticipation of a visit from the President of Switzerland. However, not everyone is thrilled with this prospective identity shift. The town's banker Añibarro, a staunch Basque supporter, and the hostel manager Revuelta, a die-hard Castilian, fuel resentment. The plot thickens with the sudden arrival of Yolanda's boyfriend Fernando, whose true identity as an agent of the National Corp of Intelligence (CNI) rattles the town. Amidst all the chaos, a love triangle forms between Gorka, Yolanda, and Nathalie, further complicating matters. The unsuspecting Íker, Gorka's best friend and an aspiring sculptor who is secretly in love with Nathalie, stumbles upon a clandestine plan of revenge masterminded by Revuelta and Añibarro against Gorka. As the town teeters on the verge of a massive identity shift, alliances are tested, love triangles are untangled, and the fate of Tellería hangs in the balance.
