Plot

In the quaint tranquility of a seaside town, a mystery unfurls around Rynn Jacobs, a thirteen-year-old British transplant celebrating her birthday in solitude on a Halloween night. Having recently relocated with her enigmatic father from England, they rent a secluded home for three years from the overbearing Mrs. Cora Hallet. Their peaceful existence is soon threatened as Frank Hallet, Mrs. Hallet's morally corrupt son, emerges from the shadows, casting a disturbing presence over Rynn's life. Meanwhile, the relentless curiosity of the townsfolk deepens as Rynn's father remains conspicuously absent - a phantom figure, always away. Rynn's world turns on its axis when Mrs. Hallet, under the guise of retrieving her jelly glasses stored in the cellar, pays a visit. Her uninvited intrusion escalates into a chilling accident, leaving Rynn in a predicament that tests her resourcefulness to its limits. As Rynn grapples with the daunting task of hiding evidence of Mrs. Hallet's ill-fated visit, she encounters the aspiring magician, Mario Podesta. His unexpected aid sparks an unusual alliance, leading Rynn to confide her deepest secret to him. Amidst the escalating tension, one question lingers - what is the secret Rynn guards so fiercely? A tale of suspense, mystery, and resilience, The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane, invites you to unravel the enigma that is Rynn Jacobs.
