Plot

In the autumnal gloom of October 2014, Somerset, England, the life of trainee veterinarian Clover Catto (Ellie Kendrick) is abruptly tainted by tragedy. She receives an ominous call, a harbinger of her younger brother Harry's (Joe Blakemore) death - a mysterious case that points towards suicide. This shocking news lures Clover back to the derelict family farm she once called home, a place she had abandoned for years, only to find it horrifically transformed. The farm, once brimming with life, has been ravaged by the devastating floods that swept over the area six months prior, leaving behind a landscape of ruin. Her father, Aubrey (David Troughton), is a mere spectre of the man he once was, his spirit drowned in the tidal wave of loss and despair. The homecoming forces Clover into a confrontation with Aubrey, with the crumbling farm, the dying livestock, and the haunting mystery surrounding Harry's demise. As Clover delves deeper into the fragments of her past and the disquieting present, she embarks on an intense journey of emotional reckoning. She begins to unravel the hushed whispers of her family's secrets, her childhood memories, and her own identity. This exploration binds Clover and Aubrey in a new understanding, a fragile bond tethered to the truth. But as the truth of Harry's death begins to surface, it threatens to submerge their newfound connection, leaving them to navigate the stormy waters of grief, forgiveness, and redemption on their ravaged farm. Will their bond endure the tempest, or will it be washed away in the tumultuous tides of their shared past?
