The Last Fling (1987)

Trapped in a monotonous cycle of fleeting romances, lawyer Phillip Reed yearns for a connection deeper than one-night stands. His life takes an unexpected turn when he crosses paths with Gloria Franklin, a lively yet mysterious woman, at the city zoo. Captivated by each other's company, they engage in a charming pretense, with Gloria introducing herself as Marsha Lyons. As Phillip is left awaiting a call he believes will never come, Gloria discovers her fiancé's infidelity. Furious and heartbroken, she decides to turn the tables and have a last fling of her own before her impending nuptials. She invites Phillip to join her on a whirlwind weekend getaway to the vibrant beaches of Acapulco, Mexico, a journey filled with unexpected mishaps, including a fiery car breakdown and an unusual hitchhike with local farm workers. Once in Acapulco, they find solace in a beautiful home owned by Gloria's parents, indulging in a world of exotic cuisines, rhythmic dances, and shared secrets. Their thrilling escapade culminates in a passionate night, stirring deeper feelings within Phillip. However, the morning light reveals Gloria's disappearance, with only a videotaped confession revealing her true identity and engagement, and the fact that their passionate night was intended as her own version of a pre-marital last fling.
