The Last Days of the World (2012)

Kanou, an apathetic schoolboy, finds his mundane existence shattered when a diminutive stranger barges into his life with an ominous declaration: the impending destruction of the earth. Embracing the chaos of his finite days, Kanou decides to fulfill his every desire, a resolution that leads him down a path of violence and abduction. He kidnaps Yumi, the object of his affection, in a misguided attempt at intimacy, only to realize his inexperience with the subtleties of lovemaking. In the midst of his confusion, an enigmatic message from a radio broadcast suggests an unusual solution: 'Use your mayonnaise'. His surreal journey becomes more tangled as he encounters an eccentric middle-aged cosplayer who invites him into a world teeming with peculiar individuals. As their party reaches its zenith, the police descend upon them, pursuing Kanou for the atrocities he committed in the past few days. As they corner him, Kanou is left to grapple with the disquieting question: Has he truly experienced these surreal events, or is it the fabrication of a vivid dream? The boundaries of reality blur in this eccentric tale, leaving viewers guessing until the last frame.
