In the desolate year of 2062, Earth has become an uninhabitable wasteland, its once-thriving populace sleeping in suspended animation aboard the space station USS Legacy. Orbiting the ruined Earth, the station is a military-controlled sanctuary where scientists tirelessly work on a grand project to resurrect their home planet. At the heart of this cosmic fortress is the stalwart soldier, Captain Cal Brody, assigned to guard the stasis chamber after a reckless attempt to apprehend a rogue soldier ends in his punishment. His commander, the stern Colonel Alexa Stant, serves as his watchful superior. The tranquility of the USS Legacy is shattered when the notorious criminal Max Durbin and his band of convicts, liberated from the terrestrial prison colony by the unexpected treachery of Alexa, seize control of the station.
