Plot

In the misty Scottish moors, determined archaeologist Angus Flint unveils an enigmatic skull amidst the crumbling remnants of an ancient convent he is meticulously excavating. Concurrently, the enigmatic Lady Sylvia Marsh makes an unanticipated return to the nearby manor of Temple House. A quaint village gathering brings Angus face to face with the newly minted Lord James D'Ampton, the inheritor of the land adjacent to Temple House. A local legend, narrated through an enchanting rock-folk tune, tells of the D'Ampton Worm - a monstrous dragon-snake slain by an earlier D'Ampton, cleaved in two. As the days roll on, the village is plagued by strange occurrences: people disappearing, peculiar behavior, and the theft of the unearthed skull from Angus's quarters. A chilling discovery in a cavern—the supposed lair of the legendary D'Ampton worm—unearths a watch belonging to one of the missing villagers. As Angus and James delve deeper into the mysteries enveloping their small hamlet, they uncover the existence of an ancient cult that revered the worm as a deity, hypothesizing that the beast survived its supposed demise but was imprisoned within the cavern. As the plot unravels, Angus, James, and the brave Mary Trent find themselves in a race against time to thwart Lady Marsh's ominous plans of liberating the beast from its rocky prison. The Lair of the White Worm weaves a thrilling tale of mythology, mystery, and the menacing unknown.
