Plot

In the gripping remake of 1946's The Killers, inspired by an Ernest Hemingway short story, we are plunged into a world of professional killers, unexpected victims, and double-crossing financiers. As the plot unfurls through the eyes of two hitmen, Charlie Strom and his younger accomplice, a unique twist is introduced when their recent contract, an auto mechanics teacher in a school for the blind, bizarrely welcomes his fate. This is no ordinary victim, but Johnny North, a former Formula One race car driver with a mysterious past. Surprised by his stoic acceptance of death and intrigued by their overpayment, the killers embark on a relentless quest to unravel the enigma of North's past and his involvement in a million-dollar heist. Their journey takes a captivating turn when they suspect that identifying their employer could lead them to the stolen fortune, and they proceed to dissect North's history with ruthless efficiency. In their pursuit of truth and money, they cross paths with a beautiful femme fatale, played by the enchanting Angie Dickinson, and a wealthy, double-dealing financier, a role inhabited by Ronald Reagan. As the hitmen delve deeper into a world of deception and intrigue, they realise that their latest job is more than just a hit - it's a gateway into a labyrinth of secrets, lies, and hidden treasures. The Killers (1964) is a riveting exploration of crime, greed and the human capacity for treachery, with an unforgettable narrative that keeps you perched on the edge of your seat until the final scene.
