When two companions, Gilbert Bowen, a skilled draftsman, and Roy Collins, a garage owner, embark on a seemingly innocent fishing trip to San Felipe, they find their journey upturned by an unexpected encounter. Their path converges with a stranger, a seemingly forsaken motorist in need of assistance. Oblivious to the storm they're about to invite into their lives, they offer him a ride, unknowingly setting the stage for a chilling cat-and-mouse game. The stranger is revealed to be Emmett Myers, an escaped convict with a psychopathic bend and a history stained with the blood of good Samaritans he'd slain in his desperate bid for freedom.
